Our Club

We are a fast growing Canoe Polo Club, with over 50 members aged from age 9 upwards. We train in Mullingar Harbour from April to September and over the winter in swimming pools.

Our goal is to provide a fun place for members to go while developing individual, team and leadership skills through sport.  We are a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers.

Who can join ?

Our members are aged 9 and upwards.  No previous kayaking experience needed.  Swimming and general water confidence is required-just make sure you are ready to have fun and like getting wet!  Register your interest and we will contact you when starting our next beginner group.

We provide all equipment to our beginner members – boats, paddles and safety equipment  Our equipment has been substantially funded by the  Sports Capital Programme.

Our volunteers make it all work – our Coaches are experienced Canoe Polo Players and coaches, with experience from beginner to International Level. We are already at work developing our next generation of coaches from among our young members.

Women in Sport

We have a great partnership with Westmeath Sports Partnership and have worked together to on our successful ‘Girls On Water’ Programme for teenage girls.  Over 50% of our members are female.

Canoe Polo is a team sport, that takes the strengths of individual players and puts them together to form great teams.  We have adopted the Cara Inclusion Disability Charter.
